Smart IoT Lighting Lume-Fi®

Lume-Fi® is Lumeitalia's proprietary IoT platform for point-to-point telemanagement of public and industrial lighting installations. Each luminaire becomes an intelligent node with a unique identity, capable of communicating in real time operating status, consumption, alarms and environmental parameters. The platform is interoperable with DALI-2, MQTT, LoRaWAN and NB-IoT, and integrates with the main European smart city platforms.

Lume-Fi® architecture and features

Each light point is equipped with a Lume-Fi® controller that communicates with a cabinet concentrator or directly to the cloud via NB-IoT/LoRaWAN. The web dashboard provides: GIS map of the installation, dynamic dimming programmable by time or astronomical profile, real-time fault alarms, point-to-point consumption reading with ±2% accuracy, energy reporting compliant with EN 16247.

Integration with IoT sensors enables advanced smart city scenarios: adaptive dimming based on traffic and weather, integration with cameras and smart parking, air quality monitoring (NO2, PM10), presence-activated lighting for cycle paths and pedestrian crossings.

Technical FAQ

Is Lume-Fi® compatible with luminaires from other manufacturers?

Yes, any luminaire with DALI-2 or 1-10V interface can be integrated via our IP66 external controller. The system creates no vendor lock-in.

Can I host the dashboard on my own servers?

Yes, we offer cloud deployment on AWS/Azure EU or on-premise for public administrations with data sovereignty requirements. The system is GDPR compliant.

Which communication protocols does Lume-Fi® use?

Lume-Fi® supports NB-IoT, LoRaWAN, MQTT, DALI-2 and Modbus TCP. Communication is TLS 1.3 encrypted and digitally signed.

Can I obtain White Certificates with Lume-Fi®?

Yes, point-to-point measurement compliant with EN 16247 enables recognition of additional certificates over relamping alone. We manage the entire procedure with the energy authority.

What happens if I change operator in the future?

Lume-Fi® is based on open standards. Historical data is exportable to CSV/JSON and hardware continues to operate without our cloud, via a local controller.
