EDGE® is the patented Lumeitalia system that integrates low-height LED modules directly into highway guardrails, lighting the roadway with horizontal low-glare light and zero sky spill. Monitored installations show up to 35% reduction in night accidents and total elimination of light pollution.
EDGE® modules are integrated in the lower band of the guardrail, powered at 24V SELV, with asymmetric optics projecting light horizontally onto the roadway. The driver perceives a continuous strip of light 70 cm from ground, eliminating pole glare and improving curve perception.
The system is approved per EN 1317 crash-tests (levels H2, H3, H4) to guarantee that LED integration does not compromise the passive safety of the barrier.
